Thanks for your mention about the logo contest but I'm not taking part in such contests generally because I don't think that this is the right way.
In my opinion a logo has to be developed and designed hand in hand with the client, so it has a strong and maybe methaphorical meaning at the end. Just to design a few stereotype logos and upload them to a contest gallery is not the way I'm working.
